Bethel Church India is founded in the year 1985 under the clear guidance of the God Almighty by Rev.C.Muthuraj at Chinnamanur which is near to Madurai, the Temple City of South India with only 5% of Christians of all denominations. The church runs under a Government registered Organization by name Trust for Evangelism and Missionary Development (TEAM)- Registration No : 60 / 99 .The Church has got 250 permanent members through whom it carries out various spiritual, educational and social welfare activities .The Church runs the below mentioned outreach ministries . Bethel Strives towards the total transformation of lives of communities in and around Theni District of Tamil Nadu India and prepare them towards the Kingdom of God.
Church planting Ministries
"A Church for every Village of Tamil Nadu & the Gospel for every person"
Church planting is the prime objective of Bethel. At present, we are planting churches in Theni District of Tamil Nadu , India encouraging our missionaries in the villages to plant new churches by providing them monthly financial assistance. An important aspect of Church planting is to help the missionaries and the villagers to worship the Lord with freedom. The believers in the Indian village churches are mainly poor downtrodden people, who work as laborers and farmers.They cannot financially support the church construction work. They gather in the houses rented by us or under big trees or in some cases, under a thatched roof to worship the Lord. Financial assistance is required for erecting simple prayer halls for the purpose of Sunday worship, weekly meetings and Sunday school.
Our target is to see the churches should be reproducing, multiplying, and disciple making churches. Villages in Theni district are remote places where millions of people are yet to hear the word Jesus. Our approach has been, identifying one family in that area, Evangelize to it, start a House cell Fellowship with that family, through that family, we reach out to the community, Disciple people from the Home cell Fellowship and Finally we start a church.
Bethel Library Foundation
“Reaching the world with word”
Bethel Library Foundation is a Christian literature ministry of Bethel dedicated to serve man with books. India is suffering a famine of Christian literature and other needed Christian resources. There is a spiritual hunger in this non Christian domianated land with a growing Christian population with very little spiritual food to meet the demand.Bethel aims at preserving Christian books and literature for reference and distribution of Bibles , Spiritual books , tracts and related literature .
Bethel child care center
To train children in the way they should go (Proverbs 22:6)
Bethel strives to ensure that every young child in the community is given the opportunity to know Christ's love .Bethel helps the rural poor children of Theni district to develop physically and spiritually though access to a Christian love and care, spiritual food through Sunday schools and Vocational Bible schools. Additionally it supports poor children with supply of notebooks and stationeries. With collaboration with Operation Christmas Child we distribute Christmas gift boxes to the rural poor children .Bethel has started focusing in starting schools to the rural poor children.
Bethel Youth Ministry
Youth Ministry of Bethel aims at introducing Christ to youths and students. We focus on building spiritual lives, presenting Christ to non-Christian students, counseling them, tackling social issues such as drug addiction and alcoholism, thereby challenging the life course of youths, who will accomplish great things for Christ. We aim to raise a new generation of leaders as a preparation for the forthcoming Revival .
Bethel Women Ministry
The main focus of women's ministry at Bethel is to evangelize and influence women from all walks of life to be aligned with the purpose of God, thereby to serve in God's kingdom. The other aspect of the women's ministry is to reach out to women and instill in them biblical principles through practical teaching. This equips them into being spiritual leaders for Christ.
Bethel women are encouraged to realize their gifts and rise up to serve Christ in different capacities .Tthe women wing of Bethel get together on every Fridays for a fasting prayer to pray for the nation . The women team organizes a 40 days fasting prayer every year which ends with Easter celebrations . They are not just involved in the ministry of intercession but also encouraged in preaching of the Word, worship leading in order to become effective leaders. Bethel women are making a significant contribution to the various ministries of the body of Christ and are soaring up to new heights of achievement and fulfillment.
Bethel Sports Ministry
Bethel sports ministry exists to share the hope of Christian faith through sports and to call people into a consistent commitment to the Lord. We feel tremendously fortunate to have the opportunity to share God's message with hundreds of children through our Summer Sports Camps conducted along with VBS(Vocational Bible School). We are dedicated to helping people learn how to use sport activity time to communicate the "Good News" of Jesus Christ with folks around us.
Bethel and Social Development
Bethel strongly emphasis on the development of the communities it works with and focus on different programmes like computer education to poor rural girls, helping Orphans and Old age people , involving in disaster relief campaigns and free medical checkup progarammes.
